Amid uproar, Trump says he’s ‘looking forward’ to second meeting with Putin

Bloomberg said Putin was proposing a ballot of residents on the status of the two territories, carried out under global auspices.

With Trump under fierce criticism in the United States, the White House on Thursday rejected Putin's proposal that Russian authorities be present for the questioning of Americans it accuses of "illegal activities", including a former U.S. ambassador to Moscow.

In an interview with CNBC television on Thursday, Trump said that "getting along with President Putin, getting along with Russia's a positive, not a negative". I have President Putin. But he said, "Russia was always open to such proposals".

Asked if he had thought about resigning, Coats said simply: "That's a place I don't really go to publicly".

The Summit with Russian Federation was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media. But Trump decided not to follow through on the plan, and instead spoke in positive terms of Putin in the press conference afterward for his "strong" denial that Russian Federation had any involvement. "Sort of a double negative".

Earlier Mr Trump rejected a proposal by Mr Putin that Russian Federation be allowed to question USA citizens. The remarks put him at odds with U.S. intelligence over claims of Russian interference in 2016 election.

"People are quickly ready to move onto other things".

There was no immediate reaction from the Kremlin to the invitation.

"I think that's an incredible offer. OK?"

They are angry, however, at proposals by USA lawmakers to question Trump's translator about what the men discussed privately.

U.S. White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday that Trump has asked National Security Advisor John Bolton to invite Putin to Washington in autumn, and the discussions "are already underway".

At a joint press conference with Trump following their talks in Helsinki, Putin repeated Russian calls for the United States to press Kyiv harder to implement the Minsk agreement.

Trump has come under widespread domestic criticism about the meeting.

On Wednesday, Trump answered "no" to a reporter's question on whether Russian Federation was still targeting the United States, only to have Sanders say later he was saying "no" to answering any questions - not to the question itself.

In seeking to shift the blame to the media, as he often does, Trump said many stories are "total fiction", but did not provide examples. The official did not specify if that meant Russia's interference in USA elections.

"The biggest problem is that he believes meddling equals collusion", he said.

"The president is wrong", GOP Sen.

In one Twitter post, Trump blamed the media. Told that Sanders had since clarified, she responded: "There's a walk-back of the walk-back of the walk-back of the walk-back?"

The mashup for the July issue appears like a Snapchat face swap: Retaining the leaders' light-colored eyes, Trump's signature blonde hair and eyebrows, and Putin's nose.

"The president's views on interest rates are well-known, and his comments today are a reiteration of those long held positions, and public comments", Walters said in a statement.

Nevertheless, some Republican lawmakers expressed concern and alarm in light of the President's remarks. Rep. He later added that the Russian apparatus is still attempting to undermine the democratic process in the US. "Tightening now hurts all that we have done", Trump tweeted. He mentioned London-based financier Bill Browder, a onetime investor in Russian Federation who said he exposed corruption there.

The notion of a $400 million donation to the Democrat's campaign would be out of the question.

Putin and Trump also seemed to have discussed the possibility of exchanging subjects for questioning.

The watchdog site opensecrets.org shows Browder's NY financial partners, Ziff Brothers Investments giving only $17,700 for Clinton's election and less than $300,000 to the Democratic National Committee, as well as smaller amounts to other entities.

White House officials have not explained why Coats was not informed about the invitation in advance.
