Google Home Hub Is An Amazon Echo Show Rival Coming This Fall

And given that it's a Google Home device at heart, you'll have direct access to Google's growing smart home ecosystem and full access to the Google Assistant.

A report by MySmartPrice contains several leaked images of the Google Home Hub and screenshots of product specifications revealing key design and specifications details.

We'll hopefully hear more about the device on October 9 at Google's big show. But Lenovo's display is an inch bigger.

Starting with the design, the Google Home Hub looks like a mash-up of an Android tablet and the Google Home Max.

Again, nothing new here, but this seems in line with the current Google Home promotional images. Currently, Smart Displays can't join a Google Home speaker group for whole-home audio, and neither do they support the "Continued Conversation" mode. Google had shipped 2.3 million units of the Google Home Mini globally while Amazon had shipped 2.2 million units of Echo Dot during Q2 2018.

Like the Google Home, interaction with the Home Hub is done via Google Assistant.

We're learning that the new smart speaker will be called "Home Hub" and that it will indeed have a 7-inch touchscreen display attached to a speaker.

If the pricing leak is true, the Google Home Hub will be cheaper than the Lenovo Smart Display and JBL Link View which cost $200 (roughly Rs. 14,500) and $250 (roughly Rs. 18,100) respectively. In fact, a Google executive strongly hinted at plans to launch a smart display made by Google in an interview with Variety this spring. The listing shows the display available in two colors ("chalk" and "charcoal"), with Google's traditional mute switch on the back and what looks to be a video chat camera on the front. It will even use Google's continued conversations feature, which means you don't have to continuously add the phrase "Ok Google" when going through multiple commands at once.
